How alternative style is invading mainstream trends

Cottagecore

Cottagecore is predicted to be made big in 2021, and I can't think of a more appropriate style for my witchy guys, gals and theys! With a focus on leading a simpler life, becoming one with nature this is the perfect vibe for those who feel connected to the Earth. This style doesn't even need to be tweaked to stick with your alternative aesthetic. Our time is coming my alt friends, as trends lean more towards the dark side it's going to be so much easier to decorate your home how your heart wants.

Bold Colours and Earthy Tones

Looking at Dulux's colour of the year and following on nicely from Cottagecore vibes, colours are about to get much more grounded this year. I can see dark green being very in and some experts have predicted an uprising of deep, dark blue and blacks in kitchens which already has me feeling inspired. I imagine many of you already favour dark and earthly tones in your homes but if you was looking for a reason to get that emerald green on your dining room wall - this is it!

Maximalism

Minimalism is finally on the way out in 2021, it's been in for the longest time but the tide seems to be turning. Whilst simple can be good in a lot of ways, it doesn't lend itself to different which is what we are all about here. Giving way to a mixture of textures and styles in one room can help to build a style as unique as you. I'm also thinking gallary walls full of all your favourite spooky prints.

Black is Back

It won't just be kitchen cabinets that see an appearance of our favourite colour, it will be spilling out into wall paint and furnishings too. It is commonly thought that black on wall will make a room look small, but if you can nail some contrast it can actually have the opposite effect. Let 2021 be the year that darkness reigns throughout our homes, and all stores begin stocking products that fit your style.
